Most of us aren’t models, so it comes as no surprise that the vast majority of my clients tell me that they feel awkward on camera or they don’t like how they look in photos. These are the same people that you now see filling the galleries on my website in some of my favourite photos! After a photoshoot, they also tell me that they have never felt more comfortable and at ease and that the shoot was surprisingly fun and empowering! That being said I absolutely do give you direction and remind you to stand up tall and straighten your spine and work at creating some real moments of laughter and emotion of you doing what you love.
A personal brand photography session is for small business owners and entrepreneurs looking to enhance their online presence with authentic photos. A brand photography session will produce a collection of photos that are unique to you and your brand. As a bonus, I include a usage and planning guide that will benefit new and seasoned social media marketers alike!
Anyone with an online presence will benefit from having great photos from the start. However, brand photography is an investment. If you haven’t established a strong foundation for your brand then I would recommend the short story session to get you started while you work out the details.
Headshots are generally of a person’s face smiling at the camera from the shoulders up against a nondescript background. Personal brand photography shows you in your element, doing things you love, often done on location in an office or home or anywhere that helps tell the story of who you are.
This is something that will come out in the discovery and brainstorming sessions. Although these are the basic must-haves; the side-eye (looking at potential text/product etc), horizontal shots (with negative space for text on banners, etc), vertical shots (for use on Instagram stories, etc), a killer headshot (for profile pics and email signature, etc), blog/social posts (brainstorm potential posts for specific images).
Within 2 weeks you will have access to an online gallery of your photos where you will select your favourites. You will receive a download link to the full resolution and web-friendly sized photos. I provide a few “teaser” photos right away so you can share a sneak peek with your audience! I do not provide RAW (unprocessed images).[/su_spoiler]

Personal brand photography showcases the face behind the brand and tells the story of; who you are, what you do, why you do it, and what sets you apart from your competition with strategic custom images that engage your ideal clients to know you like you and trust you. In other words, it’s an opportunity to share your passion for what you do in the way that only you can do it!
Story sessions are strategic photo sessions that we plan together to showcase you and what you do, how you do it, and other passions outside of work that help define your brand.
We will brainstorm locations ideas that represent your brand and your passions. This could be in your office, your favourite hiking trail, coffee shop, reading nook, the possibilities are endless! Indoors look for locations with lots of window light, outdoors look for shaded areas on sunny days. Bonus if you can find locations that incorporate your brand colours!
There are numerous ways to incorporate brand colours, for example through props, wardrobe, accessories, colour pops in the background of images. We will brainstorm other options as well.[/su_spoiler]
You can use your new, brand photos for pretty much anything you like! Use them on your website, Linkedin, Instagram, Facebook, speaking engagements, book covers, print and online ads, pamphlets, opt-ins, selling that new coaching program, essentially anywhere you need images to promote your brand. You may edit, crop, and use filters to suit your brand aesthetic although we try and nail that down in the planning stages. You are not required to credit me, although I appreciate it when you do! As the content creator, I still retain the original copyright so you are not able to claim the photos as yours or sell them outright as if you took them yourself.
No, however, I am happy to offer some recommendations. I highly recommend hiring someone to do your hair and makeup so that you feel like a star on shoot day!
Yes! I highly recommend including a friend or family member as a client “prop”, and for behind the scenes encouragement to make you laugh and cry, to help you change and help with bags!
